Horde is a french artist, performer and painter based in Lyon, France.
Working for the most part with acrylic paint, oils and blood, she expresses herself through the many faces of the female paradigm, concepts of sacred flesh, destruction, rebirth, and a deep connection to the dark feminine and her hidden truths. Her works are visual tales from her own personal lore and universe, where she narrates the myths and births of a pantheon of entities and cosmogonies that expand and unfold over time.
Linked to the subjects of dreams, psychedelic and hypnagogic magic, as well as mental health exploration, her paintings are used as personal sigils and archetypes to reclaim and empower her own identity.
Bio
Born and raised in France, Horde followed a 2D animation and infography cursus while becoming involved in local alternative music scenes, which helped raise a strong interest for esoteric and occult themes.
This growing fascination led to collaborations with musical projects and french collectives such as AMSG, culminating in a live performance at the 2023 edition of Occulture that acted as a near epiphany in her artistic journey.
Inspired by these experiences, she began channeling her desire to learn further, into her paintings.
Today, she focuses primarily on visual art, working with various mediums to keep exploring her imagery, that is often triggered through dreamlike states and hypnagogic experimentations.
