Faulty Oracle
Faulty Oracle is an adaptive audio-video installation that conjures an unreliable divinatory machine. Visitors pose their questions through body language—gestures, movements, and postures that the system interprets, often misreads and transforms. In return, the “oracle” delivers cryptic, animated answers that flicker between epiphany, nonsense and hallucinations. Voices stretch, fracture, and echo, while visuals shimmer with unstable symbols, offering responses that feel both prophetic and broken.
The dialogue is never straightforward: questions are often misinterpreted, wrong questions are amplified, and answers rarely align with intent. The oracle becomes a mirror of ambiguity, where meaning emerges from error, chance, and interpretation rather than clarity.
By shifting interaction from language to the body, Faulty Oracle unsettles the expectation of precision in human–machine exchange. It invites participants into a playful space of miscommunication, where prophecy is reframed as a dance of uncertainty and imagination.
