Lia Vesperale

We wear masks to shed our skins, we ring bells to open and close new time and space. On shrines, we lay desires, we charge symbolic signs to embody new visions and to make new reality happen. Ritual tools are used to bend and channel the Will as energy. For the art exhibition of Occulture 2023, the artist wants to show ceramic artefacts (masks, bells, cups, shrines) and drawings that lead the self trough metamorphosis.

Lia Vesperale is a young visual artist from France. Her creative work is linked to her occult praxis. Intuition and sensitivity are used to access to liminal spaces, to heal, to connect to neglected otherness and reclaim it. Interested in old traditions of rural popular witchcraft and carnivalesque evolution of greco-roman mystery cults, her sculptures, drawings and installations are also rooted in more recent luciferian philosophy, chaos magic and DIY subcultures. Her praxis is based on antidogmatic ritual forms involving the elements, matters of the territory and sympathetic processes using the power of symbols.She had various solo show in art galleries and art centers.
