Naked Spiritus

Naked Spiritus creates a performance ritual exploring pluralities of space perceived as non-geometrical and rather elastic, changeable and psycho-plastic. A reservoir of moments representing diversity of its own poetics.
They all reverberate their songs through means of voices, drumming, flutes and states of trance. We bring our own compositions and songs which reflect our audiovisual practice. All songs are based on intuitive language or linguistic sounds of speech.

It is a group of people, objects, spaces and other entities collectively working on intertwining various dimensions of sound and light. The effect of this collaboration is a fluid connection between here and nowhere in order to chant a poem of no sound.

Naked Spiritus has come into existence thanks to mutual inspirations in creative processes between members of the group. It was formed thanks to years of research on sound, light, altered states of consciousness and a number of rituals conducted by the group members individually and collectively in the past years. The main purpose of the band is to augment the felt through the heard and to give it a sonic shape.
Taking inspirations from various experiences deeply rooted in trance and mysticism, Naked Spiritus reverberates their songs by means of chants and drumming. They collaborate with various individuals, groups, living entities, objects and spaces to enhance their repertoire.
For this occasion Naked Spiritus joins forces with John Rausenberger who is an artist working and living in Antwerp. John is inspired by animistic and traditional shamanistic self transformative techniques and deeply influenced by the art of the Hungarian shaman Joska Soos. He developed his own method of working with spirit beings as placed in an decimal structure of medicine wheels which he uses to perform his visual art, rituals, healings and music.He worked for ten years on daily basis as a shamanic healer, giving workshops, lectures and performing ceremonial rituals.
