Santa Sangre Body Rituals

Limina_ Rites of the In-Between_ By Santa Sangre Body Rituals and Origin Te Yon’ton

A turning inward, seeking the current that connects us to the whole.
Guided by sound and ancient vibrations, bodies meet in a liminal space —
where flesh is pierced, the spirit lifted, and breath holds the moment still.
Suspended, the body becomes a vessel.
We align. We listen.
We cross the threshold together.
An invocation of what we cannot name, but feel in the space that follows.
Limina is a body suspension performance — guided by the music of Origin Te’ Yonton — exploring the space between body and spirit, through the threshold we enter when we create.

Bio

Santa Sangre Body Rituals is a project exploring blood-related performances, founded in 2015 by Beto Rea (Kukulcan Rituals) and Darkam Arcadia. Their collaboration merges distinct backgrounds and traditions, blending ancient influences with contemporary body art.
Over the past decade, Santa Sangre Body Rituals has performed extensively across Europe and beyond.
Beto, deeply connected to his Mexican and prehispanic heritage, has pioneered body suspensions for over two decades. Alongside his ritualistic practice, he does hand-poked tattoos and scarifications.
Darkam, originally from San Marino, began facilitating suspensions nine years ago and has since developed a multidisciplinary practice as an illustrator, comic artist, and tattooist. Her work draws on hermetic magic, alchemical symbolism, and ancient pagan rituals.
Beyond performances, Santa Sangre Body Rituals is an active body suspension crew, offering private suspensions and immersive personal rituals. Their work invites participants and audiences alike to explore the body’s limits and the transformative power of ritual.
