Memento Infinitum
Memento Infinitum: Remember Infinity. In the coiled embrace of Infinity, birth and death entwine. At once memento mori and memento vivere, this dance performance demonstrates the tension between mortality and infinity, embodying the arc of birth and death as mirrored thresholds.
Infinity becomes both cradle and coffin, ouroboros and hourglass; a potent symbol of the paradoxical human condition. Using spirals of powerful movement and moments of profound stillness, Vivian’s finite body becomes a channel for infinite return, serving as a reminder that every ending births a beginning.
Through a cyclical choreography that begins and ends in the same position, this piece explores the terrible and beautiful paradox of being finite beings within an infinite universe.
Bio
Vivian, aka Spiral, is a pioneering force in the contemporary hoop dance and flow arts movements, passionately crafting her unique artistic voice for over two decades. Her performances are at once technically masterful and deeply soulful, shaped by a lifelong pursuit of the transcendent through movement.
Her namesake, the Spiral, reflects a philosophy of practice that is ever-evolving, cyclical, and attuned to the creative rhythms of the Universe. Rooted in patterns found in sacred geometry and the divine Fibonacci sequence, her work is informed not only by somatic intelligence and emotional truth but by occult inquiry; particularly the intersection of embodied ritual, ecstatic movement, and symbolic meaning.
